Measure B amends the Alameda County charter to expand elected officials subject to recall by voters.
Currently, voters can recall Board of Supervisors members. The amendment would enable recall elections for the elected Auditor-Controller/Clerk-Recorder and District Attorney as well.
If passed, the District Attorney and Auditor-Controller would face the same potential of a recall election by petition as supervisors.
The change provides voters greater accountability mechanisms.
The measure was placed on the ballot by the Board of Supervisors and requires majority approval to be enacted.
